Hi, it’s me Micael. I’m an artist and mother in Kansas City. As an artist living in the late stages of a capitalist society that is failing because it values materialism over living things, I feel it is my duty to document the beauty of the people, plants, and creatures living on Earth as well as the planet herself. Much of my work centers on the emotional connection that we share with everything on the planet, but the more important meaning for me is to highlight the inherent value of all these things.

Much of my time is focused on raising my three children and taking care of my three dogs. In the spring that focus also stretches to include my garden. Creating an ecologically sound habitat around my home is an incredibly important goal of my life, in order to do my part to support all life around me. I believe all life is sacred and that our one life here on this planet should be used to love, accept, and support community in all its forms and everyone in them. Resistance is making art, planting wildflowers, growing food and sharing it, joining unions, meeting and supporting your neighbors, and loving everyone and everything for the unique miracle of existence they are. These acts are revolutionary against the machines that would prefer we stay silent and produce as they destroy.

I hope that you too make art in your own way, live in your own way, and love yourself and others .
